Congratulations Sumter County, Sumter Economic Development, and TheLINK Alliance! eVAC Magnetics was announced in December 2023 and recently celebrated its grand opening in July 2026.
The project highlights an investment of more than $500 million and the creation of 300 new jobs. eVAC Magnetics, part of the VAC Group, develops magnetic materials and solutions. More specifically, eVAC creates Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) rare earth permanent magnets essential to fields including automotive, defense, industrial, and renewable energy, the first of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. The Sumter eVAC Magnetics facility sits on 85 acres in the Pocotaligo Industrial Park and currently produces permanent magnets for electric vehicles and defense applications.
