SC Economic Development
SCEDA’s mission is to enhance the professional development of its membership and to advocate economic development to benefit the citizens of South Carolina.
The Advanced Symposium is an advanced level course for professional economic development practitioners. The Symposium provides attendees with an interactive learning environment taught by highly qualified professionals that include local practitioners, economic development experts, consultants, and private industry representatives. Successful completion of The Symposium will earn attendees the “SC Certified Economic Developer” (SCCED) certification.
The South Carolina Economic Development Institute (The Institute), formerly known as The South Carolina Economic Development School (SCEDS), will offer a highly interactive curriculum to this year’s participants, affording them a greater “hands-on” economic development learning experience. The Institute, a thirty-two-year partnership between the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association, has graduated more than 1,375 participants since its inception.
